In Memory of Stefano Anselmo

One of the founding members of Syntek Global Italy, Stefano Anselmo, unexpectedly passed away on Dec. 19, 2013 at the age of 44.

From the very beginning of Syntek’s presence in Italy, Stefano worked with total dedication in the Shipping Department. He did everything possible to reduce the costs of deliveries and worked hard every day for the past three years to insure Syntek products were sent promptly and efficiently to the customers  and distributors. When Stefano was asked why he often worked late, he said that his wish was to be able to make customers and distributors happy by getting the products to them.  He really did everything he could to accomplish that.

In the last year, Stefano has shipped thousands of packages, not only in Italy but also in other European countries, such as Slovenia, Spain, Greece, Poland, and Romania.  Thanks to his tireless work, Syntek Global in Italy has achieved remarkable levels of expansion. His presence will be sorely missed by his co-workers and those whose lives he touched on a regular basis.

Thank you, Stefano, for your invaluable contribution! You have been such a pillar for Syntek Global and we will miss you very much. You will remain alive in the heart of every person who has come in contact with you.

We are close to your family, your children, and your loved ones. We want you to know that we stand by them!

Again, thank you!

Looking ahead to 2014: Great News for MLM

The end of a year often has people in business predicting what to expect in the year to come.  Consumers now have easy access to a ton of information, which has changed the way of doing business. And it’s a change that is great news for anyone involved in network marketing.

This new evolution in how consumers purchase goods and services probably won’t surprise most of us. Daniel Newman, in his article “TheNew Rules: Return on Trust” in the Millenial CEO, shares the example of someone shopping for a new car. That buyer will usually do a lot of research. They will enter a car dealership already knowing what they want, how much they expect to pay, and other information. They are an informed consumer before ever making a purchase.

Many of us have already shopped this way.

Newman talks about a study that showed the average consumer consulted more than 11 different sources prior to making a purchase decision. Where it gets interesting is that these days consumers don’t trust advertising. According to studies, there isn’t a single type of advertising that consumers trust greater than 50%, with many forms of advertising in the 20-30% range.

So what sources of information do people trust? The new consumer seeks to make purchase decisions through word of mouth and brand engagement. In fact, 90% of consumers trust a recommendation from their network.

If you didn’t perk up at that, then go back and read it again. 90% of those involved in this survey trust word of mouth and their personal connections the most when making buying decisions.

Well, network marketing companies have known about the power of personal connections for a long time. And now it looks like society is catching up to us. . So reach out to people, because they’re going to trust a real person over any paid advertisement.

2014 is looking bright for network marketing and Syntek Global!

Go out and grab this new year and own it! This is YOUR time!

Motivational Monday - Winning is a Choice

This is an amazing inspirational video for athletes (swimmers in particular) but so much of it applies to anytime we set a lofty goal that requires hard work. We've included the transcript for you.

Rise and shine.

6 a.m. and your hand can’t make it to the alarm clock before the voices in your head start telling you that it’s too early, too dark and too cold to get out of bed. Aching muscles lie still in rebellion pretending not to hear your brain commanding them to move. A legion of voices are shouting their unanimous permission for you to hit the snooze button and go back to dream land.

But you didn’t ask their opinion.

The voice you chose to listen to is one of defiance. A voice that says there was a reason you set that alarm in the first place. So sit up, put your feet on the floor and don’t look back because we’ve got work to do. Welcome to the grind.

For what is each day but a series of conflicts between the right way and the easy way? 10,000 streams span out like a river delta before you, each one promising the path of least resistance. The thing is, you’re headed upstream. And when you make that choice, when you decide to turn your back on whats comfortable, safe, and what some would call common sense, well that’s Day 1. From there it only gets tougher. So just make sure this is something you want, because the easy way out will always be there ready to wash you away. All you have to do is pick up your feet.

But you aren’t going to are you? With each step comes the decision to take another. You'ree on your way now, but this is no time to dwell on how far you have come. You are in a fight against an opponent you can't see but oh you can feel himon your heels can’t you, feel him breathing down your neck. You know who that is? That’s you. Your fears, doubts and insecurities lined up like a firing squad ready to shoot you out of the sky. But don’t lose heart. While they aren’t easily defeated, they are far from invincible.

Remember this is the grind. The battle royal between you and your mind, your body and the devil on your shoulder who is telling you this is just a game, this is just a waste of time, your opponent are stronger than you.

Drown out the voice of uncertainty with the sound of your own heart beat. Burn away your self doubt with the fire underneath you. Remember what we're fighting for and never forget that momentum is a cruel mistress. She can turn on the dime with the smallest mistake. She is always searching for the weak place in your armor; the one tiny thing you forgot to prepare for.

So as long as the devil is hiding the details, the question remains, "Iis that all you got? Are you sure?" And when answer is yes and you have done all you can to prepare yourself for battle then it’s time to go forth and boldly face your enemy. The enemy within.

Only now you must take that fight into the open, into hostile territory. You're a lion in a field of lions all hunting the same elusive pray with a desperate starvation that says victory is the only thing that can keep you alive. So believe that voice that says you can run a little faster, and you can run a little harder, and that for you the laws of physics are merely a suggestion.

Luck is the last dying wish of those who want to believe that winning can happen by accident: sweat, on the other hand, is for those who know it's a choice. So decide now, because destiny waits for no man, and when your time comes and a thousand different voices are trying to tell you you're not ready for it, listen instead to that lone voice of dissent. The one that says you are ready, you are prepared. It's all up to you now.

So rise and shine.

Success Story: Philip Reynolds, from Bodybuilding to Blue Diamond

Philip Reynolds knows all about hard work and dedication. He didn’t set several world records in bodybuilding by giving up when things get challenging or when "you just don’t feel like it.” Through his involvement in lifting/bodybuilding and owning his own car window tinting business, Philip developed a strong work ethic—and that has served him well on his rise to Blue Diamond with Syntek Global.

Philip was introduced to Syntek Global by William Chalmers, who found Philip’s business card at a restaurant. William called him and asked if he could come down to his car tinting shop and show Philip the product. Philip saw the opportunity right away.

With the rising gas prices, he thought this was a perfect business. Philip has always been interested in multilevel marketing, and has joined several network marketing companies in the past. But before Syntek Global, he struggled with finding a company that had products based on a need instead of a want and that could also help him earn a residual income.

Everyone drives, everyone needs fuel, everyone likes to save money, and everyone needs the opportunity to make their dreams become a reality. Philip found his solution and joined Syntek Global.

Philip tested the product in his Mercedes, where he saw his miles per gallon jump from 13 mpg to 18 mpg. He was excited about the results and began telling everyone! He held weekly meetings started in his tint showroom, where he would do the presentations. However, as word spread, they quickly grew out of that small space. Philip saw this as an opportunity to really lay a strong foundation for the Vermont team and decided to open up an office space and training center next door.

He continued sharing the Syntek Global opportunity in the new location, using it for one-on-one presentations and weekly events. This training center has been a great way to pique interested guests, who see Syntek Global as a real business. Philip started out sponsoring just a few in his small office but has grown that into several hundred distributors expanding into nine countries.

Philip knows that just like with bodybuilding, it takes hard work and effort to build success in his Syntek Global business. Philip says, “I have found success by simply following the 1-2-3 system and helping my team leaders to build their businesses. It has gotten to the point where every day several distributors are joining our team.”

He also acknowledges that reaching the level of Blue Diamond didn’t happen without a great team. “I have not done this alone. I have a great upline,” he said. “Josh Zwagil has been there through all of the growth being seen in Vermont.  In addition to the phenomenal leaders I find success because of the way this business is structured and by the way this company supports us as distributors by providing us with all the trainings and tools we need. This company has given me an opportunity to represent a proven product that is in high demand worldwide. If you tell someone about the product and they use it they benefit! If you tell someone else and they want to become a distributor, they also benefit. It’s a win, win!”

Recently, Philip has worked tirelessly to earn entries into the Syntek Global car giveaway drawings. More than once, he has been one of the last two names left to win the car, but didn’t end up winning. In our car giveaway on Dec. 7, Philip had the most entries. He didn’t walk away with the car, but he never quit trying and vows never to stop striving for the best. As recognition for his hard work, his persistence and how he never gives up, Syntek Global awarded him $5,000 cash!

Philip is an inspiration, and a testament to how hard word, dedication, and focused effort can pay off and lead to success!

THAT'S NOT ALL...

We also want to congratulate Phil Reynolds (Vermont, USA), who had the most number of entries in the car giveaway. In fact, Phil has been in 2nd place for the car more than once, but he never quit trying. As recognition for his hard work, his persistence and how he never gives up, Syntek Global has awarded him $5,000 cash!!

As Phil says, "Hard work and determination really pay."

o    No deposits/payments will be taken at the time a paper application is filled out. However, in January, when the country opens, a valid form of payment is required. Lack of payment or invalid/declined payment applications will be held until a valid payment is made, which might affect down line placement.

3. During the first two weeks of the official opening, ALL Syntek Global distributors will then input their own paper applications into the Syntek back office system, where all new distributors will be placed and positioned in the down lines of their sponsors. NOTE: Sponsors are responsible for the input and placement of their new distributors through paper applications. Do not send the applications to Syntek Global.

Success Tip: Tap Into the Power of Passion

“One person with passion is better than forty people merely interested.” E. M. Forste

We often hear that success requires passion, hard work, and persistence, but passion is really what drives hard work and persistence. Passion for an idea, pursuit, or activity fills us with energy, and with it we can accomplish goals that would be impossible without it.

Richard St. John, best-selling author of the book “8 To Be Great,” found through 10 years of researching over 500 successful people that there are 8 Traits that successful people have in common. The #1 trait was PASSION. Based on hundreds of interviews and his personal experience, Richard St. John suggests that passion, not money, is one of the key drivers of success. (Here is a link to his great TED video.)

“What surprised me was how often business people used the words passion or love when they talked about their work.” - Richard St. John

And others agree with him. According to Kevin and Jackie Freiberg, authors and motivational speakers, passion is key in work for these reasons:

•    Passion intensifies our focus.
•    Passion enables innovation and creativity.
•    Passion provides the drive to persevere, to avoid cutting corners, and to pursue excellence.
•    Passion creates energy among colleagues that allows work to be completed more quickly.
•    Passion helps people deal with fear.

So passion makes us work harder, longer, stronger, more focused, and more creatively. If you find yourself wavering in your dedication, perhaps you need to take the time to discover your passion. Fall in love with what you do and you’ll go far.

Then help your team find their passion.

John C. Maxwell is a motivational speaker who tries to help people reach their potential. He wrote in a blog that for years he tried to inspire passion in audiences but found it wasn’t having the effect he wanted. Then he realized he was going about it the wrong way. He was telling people what made him passionate. And it wasn’t working. He changed his focus to helping others discover their passion.

As you talk to others about your Syntek Global business, absolutely share your passion with them. Tell them what makes you excited about the product and the opportunity. But then comes a crucial step that you might be missing: help them discover their passion.

What makes you passionate will not necessarily resonate with someone else. The network marketing model makes every distributor a leader, and being a good leader means that you listen, ask questions, and honestly help others find their passion. Then if they join your team, you will not have to push them to do what they need to do to succeed; they will be driven on their own.

“Passion is fuel for the will. Passion turns your have-to’s into want-to’s. What we accomplish in life is based less on what we want and more on how much we want it.” - John C. Maxwell

Passion really is key to success. As Richard St. John discovered, passion turns underachievers into superachievers. Albert Einstein was a notorious underachiever, until he found his passion.

If it worked for Albert Einstein, it can work for YOU.

WE WANT TO KNOW: How have you found your passion?

Getting to Know Your Back Office: AutoShip Programs

One of the biggest advantages of your Syntek Global Back Office is 24/7 access to complete details for all our programs and promotions. Many questions can be answered through these easily accessible details.

For example, as a distributor you have most likely heard of AutoShip, but you may not know some of the additional benefits you can get through our two AutoShip programs: 1) AutoShip Rewards Program and 2) 100 PV AutoShip Club.

1)    AutoShip Rewards Program (ARP) - rewards customers/distributors for their loyalty as product consumers. In this program a customer/distributor acquires points with every AutoShip purchase. They can then use those acquired points to obtain free product. A customer/distributor begins acquiring ARP points in our program the day they begin their first AutoShip shipment.

2)    100 PV AutoShip Club - an exclusive club for Syntek Global distributors that provides additional benefits such as discounted products, sales tools, and branded items, as well as offering increased commission opportunities. This Club is designed to reward distributors who are building their business on a 100 PV. Any distributor that has a current, 100 PV AutoShip in the calendar month is automatically included as a member of the Syntek Global 100 PV AutoShip Club.

Some of the benefits of the 100 PV AutoShip are: upgrade to the MySyntek website, discounts off sale items, double AutoShip Rewards points, access to discounted product, and more!

Full details about both of these programs, including rules, are found in the Library of the Back Office (search for “AutoShip”).

Another benefit to AutoShip is that each shipment comes with a mailer from corporate so you can always know first thing about updates, announcements, or promotions. AutoShip options can also easily be changed from the Back Office under the My Business tab.

For more information about AutoShip, you can see this previous Q&A post.

Note: If you have not purchased a MySyntek website, go to www.mysyntek.com to do so. The first month of use is FREE with the purchase of a Starter Kit.  Signing up for a MySyntek website is optional. However, all of the training, videos, documents, presentations, and other business building tools are found in the distributor Back Office of the MySyntek website.

Success Story: Sabrina and Gianfranco Di Giusto--Skeptics Turned Believers

Sabrina Di Giusto was skeptical about the latest network marketing opportunity introduced to her in 2010—some company called Syntek Global. She and her husband, Gianfranco, had already tried network marketing and never got the results they desired. But, Gianfranco decided to try XFT in their car.

Right away they saw amazing results, and they were converted! They couldn’t help but talk about the product to friends online. Within a few months they had hundreds of distributors signed up, all of whom were very happy about the results and the opportunity.

Sabrina and Gianfranco had to open a warehouse and administrative offices to give service to their Italian distributors because of the rapidly expanding growth. From then on they have never stopped supporting Syntek Global and their Italian Syntek distributors. There are now thousands of distributors in Italy and it is still expanding!

Sabrina and Gianfranco have always worked hard to better their life conditions as well as the lives of people around them, and their lives have changed completely since joining Syntek Global. Both of them are so happy now because they get to continue to help others through Syntek. They know that the Syntek opportunity is the best opportunity they could have found. Now they are very dedicated to making it possible for all those who want to better their conditions and change their financial situations as well.

They know that with Syntek Global this is POSSIBLE and is real. It's not just a dream; it’s a reality.

Sabrina and Gianfanco want to continue expanding in Italy and the rest of Europe, making people's dreams come true. Also, they want to make everybody aware in their country that something can be done to improve their lives and preserve the environment for everyone. They know that it can be done with Syntek Global.

For them Syntek Global is a very big family—real people that take care of people. This became so true when they came to Utah for the International Convention. They realized that Syntek Global really is made of people who take care of others and really want to help others, like they have always wanted to do.

They say, “Whatever your dream is stick with it and work hard to make it possible and do it with Syntek. It's not a holiday - it's hard work, but it will be worth it. Keep persisting and never give up! The right moment for you is right there…just a little bit in front of you. You must believe it and take care of your people, all of them, and you will be rewarded. And yes, see you at the top!”

Getting To Know Your Back Office: Top 3 Questions

As we mentioned last week, for Friday Q&A we’re going to help you get to know the resources in your Back Office. We did a little investigating with our support department and found the Top 3 things people ask about.

1.    Compensation Plan – All the compensation plan details are available in the Back Office, both in print form and a series of explanatory videos.
  • For the printable PDFs in various languages go to the Library tab and type “compensation” in the Search box under Display Advanced Filter Options. You will also find inserts, overview videos, and everything you could want to explain the compensation plan.
  • The explanatory videos are found in the Academy. Training on the Compensation Plan is the #1 option after you click on the Academy tab.
2.    Commercial Initial Test Form -- People ask for a document they call "Product Match," which is the document for the Xtreme Fuel Treatment Test Plan. If a company wishes to test XFT, then for a limited time Syntek will match their  purchase up to a certain amount. The form is found in the library with the name “Commercial Initial Test Form.” You can easily find it by typing “test form” in the Search box under Display Advanced Filter Options.

3.    Price Sheets – These are found in the Back Office Library. Type “price sheet” in the Search box under Display Advanced Filter Options.

We hope you find this installment of Getting to Know Your Back Office helpful. Next week we will highlight more resources you can find in your Syntek Global Back Office.

**If you have not purchased a MySyntek website, we highly recommend that you do that now by going to www.mysyntek.com. The first month of use is FREE with the purchase of a Starter Kit.  (PLEASE NOTE: Signing up for a MySyntek website is optional. However, all of the training, videos, documents, presentations, and other business building tools are found in the distributor office of the MySyntek website.)

Africa Trip Recap

At the end of October, Co-Founder Joel Theler and Senior Director of Operations Gina Day went on a whirlwind trip to Ghana, Cameroon, and Nigeria to meet with distributors and those interested in Syntek Global, and to do some staff training. It was a huge success!

They held seven meetings in seven days in seven cities, and were blown away by the great response in every city. Large crowds gathered for each meeting and once again we were amazed at how many people are catching the vision of Syntek Global. Spirits and enthusiasm were high. Africa is truly on fire!

Due to a canceled flight, Joel and Gina missed the meeting in Ibadan, but amazing local leaders and country managers took the reins and delivered a great event. Syntek Global CEO Mr. John Winterholler also delivered a message through Skype.

At each meeting those attending were rewarded with cash giveaways and some product giveaways as well. Joel tried his hand with languages, greeting those in Lagos in the local dialet of the Yorubas. (He hopes they will forgive his poor accent.)

Thousands of people left the meetings feeling energized and motivated, and we expect more amazing things from Africa!

Joel and Gina both say they loved each city and the people in them. They were happy to meet individually with so many people and take pictures. They had a wonderful time and look forward to meeting everyone again at the 2014 International Convention in March.

The trip just reinforced that we have the best people in the world in Syntek Global! We’re impressed with the leadership and distributors everywhere we go. It is inspiring to see so many people making their dreams come true and we are honored to be part of that. It is the people like YOU that make Syntek Global great!

Friday Q&A: Where do I find…?

For today’s Q&A we’re going to tackle a whole group of questions. These usually start with “Where do I find…” or “Can I get…” The answer to many of these is usually: It’s in the Back Office.

Skill for Success: Talking to Others

Does the idea of talking to people make you break out in a sweat? Despite technological advances that make network marketing easier than ever, the power behind it is that personal connection. To be successful you must develop the skill of talking to others. Here are some ways to become more comfortable talking to people.

REASONS PEOPLE MIGHT BE AFRAID/ANXIOUS TO TALK TO OTHERS

  • Incoherency – Someone might be perfectly fine putting thoughts together in writing, but their words get all jumbled in the stress of a social situation.
  • Mind Goes Blank – Most of us have experienced this phenomenon, which can increase someone’s worry and anxiety about speaking to others.
  • Inability to Put Thoughts into Words – Sometimes when people are anxious and have had uncomfortable or awkward experiences, they grow unaccustomed to having to put thoughts into words on the spot.
  • Feelings of Inferiority/Superiority – When people struggle and others don’t seem to, they can feel inferior. Others might have the opposite reaction and feel disdain for others.
  • Fear of Being Judged – This fear underlies most of the previous reasons. We know the way we perceive others affects how we interact with them.

LEARNING TO CHANGE THIS FEAR/BEHAVIOR

Changing your behavior can be scary. Understand that for a time you might feel like a beginner, but it’s the only way to change your social comfort level for the better. It may take time, and it may not always be fun, but you can do it! Here are some tips:

  • Start Strong – If you go somewhere and decide to talk to someone, start right away. The longer you wait the easier it is to procrastinate.
  • Get a Supportive Friend – If you really have a hard time, take a supportive friend with you into a situation to encourage you. Studies have shown that those that feel loved and supported by close friends are much more confident when speaking in public. You have a team around you in this business to give you support. Take advantage of this network!
  • Ease Into It – Many people find it easy to speak to a friend, and it gets harder and harder to talk in groups. So start with one person at a time. The great news is that in our business, you don’t have to get up and speak for an hour in front of a room full of people. You just have to talk to one person at a time. That’s all.
  • Use the Strategy of Visualize, Relax, and Practice – See yourself being successful, use relaxation techniques, and practice. (See more in this short video.)
  • Just Say “Hello” – It’s not complicated. Just start with the basics: a greeting. Then you can always ask a question or two to get the conversation started.
  • Don’t Expect Anything – Don’t go into the interaction with huge expectations. If you’re talking to someone about the business/product, don’t take it personally if they’re not interested. Also, understand that you don’t know what kind of day they’ve had or what’s going on in their life.
  • It Only Takes 20 Seconds of Courage – That’s right. You don’t have to be brave for a long time. Just 20 seconds. You can do anything for 20 seconds, right?

You don’t need to be anxious about talking to others. Get out there and talk to people! Use the power of a personal connection to drive your business—and improve the quality of your life.
